Mercer Stays began on the side of a mountain. Climbing Mt. of the Holy Cross in Colorado, owner Matthew and his brother-in-law Joseph got to talking about home — and about St. Charles, Missouri, and how fast it was growing. Somewhere on that climb, Joseph floated the idea: invest in their own town and build something that could grow right along with it.
That idea stuck with Matthew. The best trips aren't about the destination — they're about the people you're with, and whether the place you stay actually lets you be together. Too often it doesn't: families get split across hotel rooms, teams scatter across town, and the weekend turns into logistics instead of memories. Matthew saw a chance to build something better, and brought it home to St. Charles.
